Project Lily PH is a livelihood project-turned-social enterprise who specializes in making eco-friendly charcoal made from coconut waste, called the Eco-Uling. We are guided by our desire to end poverty, save the environment, and empower our people in our own little ways.

 

For founder Aya Fernandez, the advocacy and vision of transforming waste into a sustainable livelihood began as a high school project where she researched how to make fiber glass reinforcement from water hyacinth (or locally called “water lily”). In 2015, Project Lily PH officially started as a "livelihood project" in Brgy. Rosario, Pasig City where we sold bags made out of water lily.

 

A year later, Project Lily PH started making its now-signature product: the Eco-Uling. We were proud to have employed Persons with Disabilities who learned the technology from Engr. Santiago Baconguis of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

We were awarded as the Most Promising Youth Social Enterprise in the 2017 Youth
Poverty Reduction Challenge of Villar Sipag Foundation. In the same year, we were recognized as one of the Sustainable Development Goals Youth Champions by The 2030 Project.

 

In 2018, Project Lily PH was recognized through our founder as Go Negosyo’s Most Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneur (Youth Category).

Unfortunately, we stopped operations when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. However, in our interest to do our part in ending poverty, saving the environment, and empowering our people through innovation, we are getting back on our feet with exciting things in store for everyone.
